Buddhism Now (Part One: One Day in a Thousand Years)

Buddhism is one of the oldest religious traditions in the world with a history that spans over 2,500 years.

- That is 500 years older than Christianity.
- 1,100 years older than Islam.
- However, despite its amazing history, Buddhism’s main focus is the present moment

But about this present moment in the history of Japanese Buddhism?

- What happens at Japanese Buddhist temples on a daily, monthly or yearly basis?
- What do Japanese Buddhist priests actually do?

During this seminar, participants will have the opportunity to experience Buddhist enlightenment in two forms that are as old as the Buddhist tradition itself—chanting and meditation

Come experience Japanese Buddhism Now.

***** Seminar Description *****

This seminar is perfect for anyone interested in Buddhism or in what happens at Japanese Buddhist temples.  Participants will get a special look into the world of Japanese Temple Buddhism and Shingon ritual.  This is a unique opportunity to learn about Buddhist priests are doing during rituals and why they are doing it from an American Buddhist priest who has experienced it firsthand.

・Learn about the contents and meaning for Japanese Buddhist rituals

・Receive a guided tour of a temple’s main hall

・Experience Buddhist chanting and meditation
