Mysterious Underground Tour: the world’s largest underground storm drain! 【Title and Date】 Saturday, November 16th, Mysterious Underground Tour deep into the world’s largest underground storm drain & wonderful boat ride 【Location】 10 minutes from Minami-Sakurai Station (Tobu-Noda Line), Kasukabe by bus
【Event Details: Fascinating Points】 Have you ever been to Parthenon in Greece? If you would say “No”, you’ve got a special opportunity to visit the mysterious underground storm drain, which reminds you of the temple. The storm drain was built for reducing the flood damages around the east area in Saitama, where was in a chronic flooded area. The facility’s water control is the great achievement for Kanto prefectures. It’s not only figuratively but also literally ‘Cool Japan’ inside, so that we recommend you wear warmer cloths and non-slip shoes not to be COLD. You walk up and down about a hundred stairs without an elevator in order to go into the channel, which would be a good exercise for Takao-san Hiking Trip. In the museum near there, you might find the piece of history that the residents struggled to cope with flood’s damages. We also plan a wonderful activity to row boats together in groups of 8, 9 or less! You can buy reasonable street food while watching shows on stages during free time. Kappa soup with full of ingredients, Kasukabe fried noodle with perilla and so on are usually sold. But we are now waiting for a disclosure of the food information, so will inform you more on this website afterward. In the end, we have tea or coffee in a café near the station. Mystic scenes await you all!!
Note : Please make sure that this attractive spot is getting more famous in these days, which means we might wait in line for admission of the storm drain for about 1 hour when crowded. And you won’t wait in line for boats.
